DID YOU KNOW?
A reckless driving conviction remains on your driving record for 11 years.
A criminal conviction cannot be expunged.
Adultery is not necssarily a bar to the adulterer receiving spousal support.
Instead of waiting 1 year to file for divorce you can file after only 6 months provided there are no minor children and a property settlement agreement.
For property crimes, such as petit larceny, Virginia Code § 19.2-303 allows for the Court to place a person on probation and, if all terms are completed, dismiss the case.
A marriage is Voidable if either party was convicted of a felony prior to the marriage without the other party’s knowledge.
A conviction for possession of marijuana will result in a 6-month loss of your privilege to drive in Virginia.
Virginia will not recognize a Common Law marriage that was attempted to be created in Virginia. However, Virginia will recognize as valid a Common Law marriage established in another state.
Fairfax County now allows people to bring in their cell phones into the courthouse.
A merchant who has probable cause to believe that a person has shoplifted on the merchant’s premises may detain that person for one hour pending the arrival of a law enforcement officer.
A divorce on the grounds of adultery will not be granted if the parties voluntarily cohabited after knowledge of the adultery.
People change. It is not necessarily a bad thing, however, it can have a huge impact on a marriage. It is very common for a spouse to think that their current husband/wife is not the person they first met. Sometimes the marriage cannot be reconciled and, these days, it is very common for people to want to move on to seek their new interests. Not all divorces are nasty but they can be. Adding minor children to the mix can make for added difficulty. This is not a situation that you have to or should go alone.
Our goal is to provide representation in a way that gets people on with their lives while protecting the client’s interests.
We represent clients on a wide range of domestic matters, including but not limited to:
Divorce: contested and uncontested
Support: spousal and child
Adoptions: Adult and Child
Things happen. It is amazing the situation we can get ourselves into. And it does not mean we are bad people. However, a criminal charge or traffic infraction can have a drastic impact on your life. It can affect your employment, insurance rates, and eat up your time. You can face jail time, the possbility of a license suspension, fines, and a loss of points on your license. These are not issues you have to face alone.
We represent clients on a wide range of criminal and traffic matters:
Driving While Suspended
Driving While Intoxicated
Hit and Run
Possession of Marijuana/Controlled Sub.

“Bob, I want to sincerely thank you for representing me through a very difficult and stressful child support case. Your professionalism was outstanding. Your legal guidance throughout the entire process was on target. I was incredibly pleased with the end result. I would never hesitate to retain your services if needed in the future. I would and I have recommended you to individuals seeking the services of a highly respected and outstanding attorney.”
“Jeremy is very professional and I was completely comfortable working with him and I would definitely work with him again. I think he is the best young attorney I have worked with”
“The first thing that comes to mind when I hear Mr. Robert Letnick’s name is honesty. Going through a divorce is an extremely overwhelming process, and I am very thankful to have had Mr. Letnick on my side. I was numb, not in the right state of mind, and completely distraught with the whole situation and during this time my main concern was my children. He was brutally honest with me and did not want me to waste any time on things he knew were not going to work. He pushed me to fight for what he felt was worth the fight and, after the dust settled, I realized he was right about each one of them. What can I say, he is the best divorce lawyer there is in Northern Virginia.”
“Thank you Mr. Letnick!! It’s a tough business you’re in and you and your team make a BIG difference in people’s lives. You most certainly have in mine and I will be forever grateful. Above all, your honesty, integrity and conscientiousness were invaluable to me and my brother. You kept us strong and focused in the right direction at all times. When you go through a divorce it’s all so foreign and knowing you were there helped us so much. I never fretted in the courtroom, you’re like a power house. I was and still am so proud to call you my lawyer. Your knowledge and your staff’s knowledge is extraordinary. I knew from the moment we met you I could completely trust you and that feeling only grew stronger as we worked together towards a very successful outcome. We couldn’t have done it without you. Forever thankful.”
